NYSC Pre-Mobilization Process (Complete 2026 Guide)

The pre-mobilization stage is the preparation phase that happens before online registration opens on the portal of the National Youth Service Corps.

If this stage is not properly completed by your institution, you cannot register for NYSC.

This guide explains everything step by step.

What Is NYSC Pre-Mobilization?

Pre-mobilization is the process where:

• Institutions compile lists of eligible graduates

• Academic records are verified

• Details are uploaded to NYSC

• Graduates are cleared for registration

It happens between graduation and NYSC portal opening.

STEP 1: Graduation & Academic Clearance

Before mobilization:

• You must complete all academic requirements

• Clear your department and faculty

• Settle library and administrative clearance

• Be officially approved by the Academic Board

Only cleared graduates are considered for mobilization.

STEP 2: Internal Mobilization List Compilation

Your institution prepares an Internal Mobilization List containing:

• Full name

• Matric number

• Date of birth

• Course of study

• Class of degree

• Graduation date

At this stage, you must:

✔ Confirm your name spelling

✔ Confirm date of birth

✔ Confirm course of study

✔ Confirm graduation year

Errors here will reflect on the NYSC portal later.

STEP 3: JAMB Record Verification

For Nigerian-trained graduates, your admission must be recognized by the

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

If your admission record is missing, you may need JAMB Regularization.

Check JAMB Status:

Do this early to avoid last-minute panic.

STEP 4: Senate/Academic Board Approval

After compiling names, your institution’s Senate (or Academic Board) officially approves the list.

This is known as the Senate Approved List.

Without Senate approval:

Your name cannot be uploaded to NYSC.

STEP 5: Upload to NYSC Portal

Once approved, your institution uploads the Senate List to the portal of the

National Youth Service Corps.

After upload, your name becomes visible online.

Check Senate List Status Here:

https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/VerifySenateLists.aspx

If your name is not found:

• Contact your Student Affairs Officer immediately.

STEP 6: NYSC Verification & Validation

NYSC reviews uploaded records to:

• Confirm institutional accreditation

• Validate course and graduation year

• Confirm eligibility age (below 30)

If approved, you become eligible for online registration once the portal opens.

Special Case: Foreign-Trained Graduates

If you studied outside Nigeria:

You must prepare:

• Academic transcript

• International passport

• Visa pages

• Evaluation letter (if required)

Verification happens during online registration on the official NYSC portal:

https://portal.nysc.org.ng

How to Know If Pre-Mobilization Is Ongoing

You can monitor:

• Official NYSC announcements

• School circulars

• Senate list upload updates

Always confirm updates from the official

National Youth Service Corps portal.

Common Pre-Mobilization Problems

• Wrong date of birth

• Name mismatch with JAMB

• Course of study error

• Institution delay in upload

• Missing JAMB record

Fix these before registration opens.

Pre-Mobilization Checklist

Before NYSC registration begins, confirm:

✔ You’ve completed school clearance

✔ Your name appears on internal mobilization list

✔ JAMB record is correct

✔ Your admission is valid

✔ Your date of birth is accurate

✔ Your institution has uploaded Senate List

Why Pre-Mobilization Matters

Many students think registration is the first step.

It is not.

If pre-mobilization is incomplete:

• You cannot register

• You cannot print Call-Up Letter

• You cannot attend camp

This stage determines whether you will be mobilized.
