12 Essential Documents Required for NYSC Orientation Camp Registration

The NYSC Orientation Course marks the official beginning of your National Youth Service. Before you can participate in camp activities, every Prospective Corps Member (PCM) must complete the registration process at the orientation camp.

One of the most common reasons PCMs experience delays or are even turned back from camp is arriving without the required documents.

This guide outlines all the important documents you should have before reporting to camp and explains the purpose of each one.

NYSC Camp Registration Requirements

The following documents are required for a successful registration at the orientation camp:

1. Academic Certificate or Statement of Result

2. NYSC Call-Up Letter

3. NYSC Green Card

4. NYSC Addendum

5. Medical Certificate of Fitness

6. Passport Photographs

7. Professional License (Medical Graduates)

8. Uploaded Documents (Married Women & Foreign-Trained Graduates)

9. NERD Clearance Slip

10. NIN Slip

11. Evidence of Industrial Training (IT) for Polytechnic Graduates

12. School ID Card (Optional)

1. Academic Certificate or Statement of Result

Your academic certificate or statement of result confirms that you have successfully completed your academic programme and are qualified for the NYSC scheme.

Before heading to camp, ensure that the following details match what appears on your NYSC dashboard:

  • Full name

  • Course of study

  • Date of graduation

Any major discrepancy—especially your graduation date—may affect your registration.

Polytechnic graduates are required to present both their OND and HND certificates or statements of result.

Foreign-trained graduates must present their original academic certificates for verification.

2. Nysc Call-Up Letter

The Call-Up Letter is your official invitation to the orientation camp. It contains important information, including:

  • State of deployment

  • Orientation camp address

  • Reporting date

  • Call-up number

Print the Call-Up Letter in colour and keep it in good condition. Avoid laminating it, as camp officials may need to stamp or endorse the document.

3. Green Card

The Green Card is the acknowledgement slip generated after completing your online NYSC registration.

It contains your personal details, call-up number, next of kin information, and other registration data.

Like the Call-Up Letter, print it in colour and do not laminate it.

4. NYSC Addendum

The Addendum is the document generated from your NYSC dashboard after online registration.

It is compulsory and must be signed before reporting to camp.

Unlike other NYSC documents, it is usually printed directly from a computer, so ensure you obtain a copy while printing your registration documents.

5. Medical Certificate of Fitness

Every PCM must present a Medical Certificate of Fitness issued by a government or military hospital in Nigeria.

The certificate confirms that you are medically fit to participate in camp activities.

Obtain this document before travelling to camp to avoid registration delays. Send us a message to obtain your comprehensive and authentic Medical Fitness.

6. Passport Photographs

Passport photographs are required for several activities in camp, including:

  • Registration

  • Meal ticket processing

  • SAED registration

  • Bank account opening

  • Identity verification

Carry at least six to eight recent passport photographs with a white or red background to avoid unnecessary expenses at camp.

7. Professional License (Medical Graduates)

Graduates of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy and other regulated health professions must present their current professional licence issued by the appropriate regulatory body.

This confirms their eligibility to practise and assists NYSC during deployment.

8. Uploaded Documents

Certain categories of PCMs are required to present the original copies of documents uploaded during online registration.

Foreign-Trained Graduates

Bring all original academic and travel documents uploaded during registration and physical verification.

Married Female PCMs

Report to camp with the original copies of all supporting documents uploaded during registration, such as:

  • Marriage Certificate

  • Change of Name publication

  • Husband's means of identification

  • Evidence of husband's residence (where applicable)

9. NERD Clearance Slip

The NERD Clearance Slip confirms that your academic project has been successfully uploaded and verified on the National Education Repository Database (NERD).

The policy was introduced by the Federal Government in 2025.

Although enforcement has varied across previous NYSC batches, every PCM should print the slip if it appears on their dashboard to avoid any unforeseen issues during registration.

10. NIN Slip

Your National Identification Number (NIN) may be required when opening a bank account in camp.

You can present either:

  • The printed NIN slip, or

  • The digital NIN card.

Minor discrepancies between your NIN details and NYSC records generally do not affect camp registration, provided your other records are correct.

11. Evidence of Industrial Training (IT)

Polytechnic graduates are required to present evidence that they completed their mandatory Industrial Training (IT).

Acceptable evidence may include:

  • IT completion letter

  • SIWES logbook

  • IT certificate

  • Employer's letter

  • Any official document confirming the internship

Carry your OND certificate or statement of result alongside the IT evidence.

12. School ID Card (Optional)

Although not compulsory, your school ID card may be requested during registration to help verify your identity.

If you no longer have your ID card, your original certificate or statement of result is generally sufficient.
